Over the houses, over the land
  and beyond the far away trees
There was no woman I desired
  as far as I could see

Someone for which I finally felt
  an overwhelming love
Until one night I found her
  on tagus' castle up above

With lively eyes and sweetest smile
  straight from her city high
She suddenly appeared to me and
  made my spirits fly

At home I languished for her love
  and got it soon enough
So soon in fact the heart she threw
  me landed in the rough

I tried to keep it tried to freeze it
  but this cannot be done
So by my ill-preparedness now
  this girl divine has gone

  was standing next to me
